"Play is the work of children." - Jean Piaget
Our program is based upon the idea that children learn best through play. This means that activities and explorations are carefully curated so that children are learning through their natural instinct to play and explore.
The children in our program engage in many hands-on explorations in order to learn about their world. We engage in dramatic play, explore art mediums, visit math, science, and literacy centers, play with various manipulatives, engage in STEM explorations, strengthen our fine motor and gross motor skills, and expand upon our social and emotional skills.
We are licensed and registered with the Maryland Office of Child Care (License #259320) and comply with the regulations set forth by Maryland State Department of Education in order to maintain our license and provide exceptional care for the children enrolled in our care. We participate in Maryland EXCELS at a level 4 and are on the path to Accreditation through NAFCC.
Greenwood Early Learning follows The Creative Curriculum to guide the daily explorations of our learners. The Creative Curriculum from Teaching Strategies is a top-rated, award-winning curriculum for early learners. Additionally, Greenwood Early Learning is a member of Teaching Strategies GOLD to help track student progress, share formative assessments with families, and tailor learning to each individual child's needs.
